Household pages, compared

These five are not alternatives to each other: they cover different parts of a household, so more than one of them may be relevant. The table shows what each page actually asks you to write, which is how to tell which ones you need.

Decision table

What each page asks you to fill in

The row and cell descriptions come from what the generators lay out, and the counts are the ranges the forms accept.

Page What one row is What goes in a cell Period on one page How much fits
Meal Planner Generator A meal slot: breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks if you switch them on. The name of a dish, written in. One week, starting Monday or Sunday. Seven day columns, plus an optional grocery list and prep notes that take width from the table.
Budget Planner Generator One income source, or one spending category. Two figures side by side: planned and actual. Undated, so it fits whatever cycle you budget on. 3 to 12 income rows and 6 to 28 expense rows, plus optional savings and notes sections.
Chore Chart Generator One chore. A mark. Boxes, circles, or stars. One week, starting Monday or Sunday. 4 to 14 chore rows across seven days, plus an optional reward line and notes.
Water Tracker Generator One day. A mark, one for each unit you drink. The count is the target. A day, a week, or a month, whichever you select. 4 to 16 marks per day, plus an optional notes column.
Habit Tracker Generator One habit. A mark. Boxes or circles. 21, 30, or 31 days. 3 to 16 habit rows, plus an optional notes area.

Reading the table

What the cell column tells you

The middle column is the one that separates these pages, and it decides both which of them you need and how they should be printed.

Marks and writing want different pages

Chore, water, and habit pages are grids of marks, so their cells can be small and a dense grid still works. Meal and budget pages are filled with words and figures, so their cells need width. That is why the same paper size feels generous for one and cramped for another.

Two fix the period, two let you choose, one is undated

Meal and chore pages are seven days wide because that is what they are for. The water tracker offers a day, a week, or a month, and the habit tracker offers 21, 30, or 31 days. The budget page carries no dates at all, so it fits whatever cycle you use. If you want everything on the same cycle, that is a setting on two of the five and a property of the rest.

Two pages already answer the same question

A water tracker is a habit tracker with one habit and a bigger daily row. If hydration is one of several things you are tracking, put it in the habit tracker as a row. Print the water page when it is the only thing being tracked and you want space for a target of up to 16 marks a day.

Batch what repeats, not what changes

Meal, budget, chore, and water pages accept a page count up to 12, so one PDF can hold up to twelve identical sheets. The habit tracker has no page count control, which suits it: the page already covers 21 to 31 days.
