Who is responsible for this site

Paperka is an independent project operated by Dmytro Zozulia. For any privacy question, correction, or request about your data, write to zozuliadv@gmail.com and mention which page is involved.

There are no accounts, no logins, and no newsletter. Nothing you type into a generator is attached to a user profile, because the site keeps no user profiles.

What data Paperka processes

Three kinds of data are involved when you use the site.

The application does not intentionally write generator input to its database or keep a copy of a generated PDF. Settings sent in a page address may also be included in request logs and can remain there for the configured retention period. The seating chart is handled differently because it can accept real names.

• Generator settings. The title, labels, names, paper size, spacing, colours, and layout options you choose. Most generators send them as part of the page address, which is what lets you bookmark a configured template. They are used to render the preview and build the PDF.
• Technical request data. Depending on the hosting and logging configuration, request and error logs may include an IP address, browser user agent, requested and referring URL, timestamps, response status, and error details. These logs support security, availability, and fault diagnosis.
• Measurement and advertising data collected by Google, described in the two sections below.

Cookies and browser storage

Paperka sets a session cookie named _app_session. It is marked HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax and supports security features such as verification of form submissions. It is not used by Paperka for advertising or audience measurement and has no explicit expiry date, so it is normally treated as a browser-session cookie. Browser session-restore features may keep session cookies for longer.

Clearing cookies and site data for Paperka removes the session cookie and all three storage items. Google's advertising and analytics services set their own cookies and identifiers, which are covered next.

• paperka-language remembers whether you chose the English or the Ukrainian version, so a return visit opens the language you used.
• paperka-recent-tools keeps a short list of the last five generators you opened, used to show shortcuts on the home page.
• paperka-style-preset holds the font and colour combination you saved with Save current style on a generator, so it can be reapplied on the next tool you open.

Advertising: Google AdSense

Paperka is funded by advertising and participates in the Google AdSense programme. Ads are requested on the guide articles and on a hand-picked set of generator pages. The remaining pages, including the tool directory and these policy pages, are served without any ad request.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to Paperka or to other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.

Google publishes its own description of how it uses data from sites that use its services at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

• You can opt out of personalised advertising by Google in your Google ads settings at https://www.google.com/settings/ads.
• You can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at https://www.aboutads.info/choices.
• The availability and personalisation of ads can depend on your location, consent choices, browser settings, and Google's policies. Paperka does not promise that an ad will be shown on every eligible page.

Measurement: Google Analytics

Paperka uses Google Analytics 4, measurement ID G-EK6MEKLN2J, to measure page views and understand which generators are visited. Paperka sets no User-ID of its own and does not link analytics to any account, because there are no accounts. Google Analytics 4 does, however, set its own _ga cookie holding a pseudonymous client ID, which is how it tells one browser from another and groups page views into sessions. It uses IP addresses to derive approximate location and does not store them.

The site's consent-mode code sets analytics storage to denied by default for the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. Elsewhere, analytics may be active on load. Browser controls and the Google Analytics opt-out add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout can be used to limit Analytics.

Consent and regional controls

For the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, Paperka sends denied default consent-mode signals for advertising and analytics storage. A consent message, when configured and shown, is supplied through a Google-certified consent management platform and provides controls for accepting, refusing, or revisiting choices.

The consent message is configured outside this website's source code. If no message appears where one should be available, do not assume that consent has been recorded; you may block site storage in your browser and contact Paperka. Personalised advertising must not be enabled for these regions without the consent mechanism required by Google and applicable law.

Legal bases for processing

• Consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, for advertising and analytics cookies and identifiers wherever consent is required.
• Processing needed to respond to your request when the generator uses the settings you submit to create a preview or PDF. The precise legal basis may depend on the circumstances and applicable law.
• Legitimate interests in security, fault diagnosis, and service availability for proportionate server request and error logging, subject to your rights under applicable law.

How long data is kept

• Generator settings are not intentionally saved in the application's database. Where settings travel in the page address, they can remain in request logs, browser history, bookmarks, and any place to which you copy the URL.
• Server and error logs are retained according to the current hosting and logging configuration. Retention is intended to be limited to operational, security, and fault-diagnosis needs, but no fixed period is promised here because that configuration may change.
• Google Analytics data is kept according to the retention controls configured for the Analytics property and Google's applicable policies.
• Advertising cookies: for the lifetime Google sets, as described in Google's own policies.

International transfers

Google may process analytics and advertising data in countries other than the one where you live. The locations, legal mechanisms, and safeguards are governed by Google's current terms and privacy documentation.

Your rights

Depending on where you live and which law applies, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection, and to withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Write to zozuliadv@gmail.com describing your request. Paperka will respond within the period required by applicable law.

Because Paperka keeps no accounts, such a request usually concerns server logs or data held by Google. For data inside Google Analytics or Google's advertising systems you can also apply to Google directly.

If you believe your data has been handled unlawfully, you may complain to your national data protection authority.

Location-specific privacy rights

Privacy rights and the legal meaning of terms such as sell, share, targeted advertising, or controller vary by location and may depend on whether a law applies to this service. Paperka does not make a broader claim here than the practices described in this policy. You may ask about those practices by email and use the advertising controls described above.

Children

Paperka is intended as a tool for adults who choose options, check a preview, and download a PDF to print: a parent, a teacher, a tutor, or anyone printing for themselves. It is not presented as an online activity for children. Where a template is meant for a learner, the intended workflow is for the learner to use the printed sheet away from the website.

Paperka has no account registration and does not ask a visitor for an age or login. The seating-chart generator can accept names supplied by an authorised adult, as described below. Children should not send personal information to the contact address. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact Paperka so the situation can be reviewed and appropriate action taken.

An authorised adult who enters names in a seating chart is responsible for having an appropriate reason and permission to use those names and for handling the downloaded PDF under the rules of their school or organisation.

What not to type into a generator

For most generators, whatever you type ends up in the page address as well as in the finished PDF, and therefore in the server request log. Treat those fields as public text: do not enter medical details, identification numbers, passwords, or anything else you would not want to appear in a link you might paste or bookmark.

The seating chart is deliberately different: it submits student names by POST rather than putting them in the page address. The Rails application marks the field carrying them as a filtered parameter so names are redacted from its application logs. They still appear in the PDF you download. Do not enter a class list unless you are authorised to handle it under your school or organisation's rules.

Changes to this policy

This policy is updated when the tools, the funding model, or the services behind them change. The date at the top of the page always reflects the current version.
